This summary is anonymized because supplier identities, purchase documents, and Seller Central shipment data are confidential. The outcomes below reflect the working file and are not a third-party audit.

The brief

A first-time Amazon seller had cases, cables, and a charger lot moving toward one US inbound window. There was no US prep-center step in the plan, so unit labels, carton labels, packing records, and the freight handoff had to be correct before export.

The shipment combined products with different inspection needs. The cases needed a visual and fit check, the cables needed continuity and connector checks, and the chargers needed a basic load test. Label accuracy was a separate control.

The control plan

Goods were received in China before the final booking. The intake record separated each SKU and supplier delivery. The inspection file used the buyer’s approved listing and packing requirements to check:

  • SKU and unit count
  • FNSKU placement and scan readability
  • Unit packaging and suffocation warnings where applicable
  • Connector fit and cable function
  • Charger output under the agreed load check
  • Carton contents, dimensions, weight, and shipment labels

The cases and cables met the agreed checks. The charger sample did not hold the required load consistently, so that lot was placed on hold rather than packed into the outbound shipment.

The decision

The buyer chose to ship the conforming SKUs and keep the charger lot in China for supplier follow-up. That avoided turning one failed SKU into a delay for the whole file. The desk retained the intake and inspection photos so the buyer could see which cartons were released.

The result

FBA preparation was completed at origin, the released cartons moved against the planned inbound week, and the failed charger lot did not enter the US shipment. The seller still owned the listing, shipment creation, and commercial acceptance decisions; the desk owned the China-side receiving, inspection evidence, labels, and booking handoff.

What this file demonstrates

For a first FBA order, staging in China creates a final control point between several factories and one Amazon appointment. It also allows a failed SKU to be separated before international freight is paid.
