A consolidation warehouse gives a buyer one place to receive goods from several suppliers before export. It can reduce separate shipments, but its more important job is control. Every delivery should be identified, counted, and matched to the inbound plan.

Give every supplier an inbound reference

Before a factory ships, the warehouse needs the supplier name, SKU list, expected carton count, and any inspection or relabeling instruction. The supplier needs the receiving address and reference to place on the cartons. Unidentified cargo wastes time because the warehouse cannot safely assign it to an order.

At intake, record the arrival date and visible carton condition. Count cartons and, where the instruction requires it, open them to confirm quantities or SKU labels. Photograph shortages, crushing, water marks, and mixed labels before the factory can argue that the damage happened later.

Keep inventory at SKU level

A useful inventory list shows what is physically present, what is expected, and what is on hold. It should not collapse several supplier deliveries into one vague total. This matters when one factory finishes late or when a buyer decides to send an urgent SKU separately.

The warehouse can also handle inserts, barcode changes, new master cartons, or kit assembly. Those jobs need a controlled instruction and a finished example. For branded presentation work, review the custom packaging service. For Amazon orders, use the current shipment files described in the FBA shipping guide.

Release one reconciled shipment

Before outbound pickup, reconcile supplier deliveries, final carton numbers, weights, dimensions, and shipping marks. Replace damaged export cartons while the goods are still in China. If several factories use different invoice descriptions, resolve those differences before the export documents are prepared.

Consolidation does not make every mixed shipment cheaper. Compare domestic trucking, handling, storage, repacking, and the export saving. The landed cost calculator provides a place to record those charges before choosing one combined shipment or several smaller ones.

What you receive

  • Inbound receiving photos
  • SKU-level inventory list
  • Consolidation plan
  • Export carton marks

How the work runs

  1. Inbound. Each supplier delivery is opened and counted.
  2. Hold. Cargo can sit while other SKUs arrive.
  3. Prep. Labels, inserts, or re-packs happen before the container books.
  4. Outbound. One set of documents and one tracking hand-off.
