When a purchasing agent acts on a 1688 app link, the important handoff is the evidence attached to it. Keep one buyer reference connected to the selected variant, the actual order, supplier payment, China receiving, inspection approval, and final export cartons. A forwarded listing alone leaves too many decisions unstated.
This guide covers that evidence map for buyers who choose to hire an agent. For account setup and the underlying buying steps, use how to buy from 1688. Keep this checklist with your other sourcing guides.
What can the app establish before an agent buys?
The 1688 Global developer description advertises localized interfaces and customer service, with local payment and logistics services. The main 1688 app description also advertises multilingual purchasing, international payment options, and logistics. These are descriptions of named apps, rather than a country-by-country promise about your account.
The China Apple listing describes image-based sourcing: finding the same or similar products from a saved image. That can help build a shortlist. It does not establish that the pictured construction, material, accessories, or packaging will be supplied for your selected variant.
Before sending the shortlist, save the app name and storefront, listing URL, seller identity shown, variant selection, and specification you want purchased. Record differences between the image and the supplier’s written offer. The developer descriptions do not verify that a particular seller manufactures the goods or establish product acceptance.
Using an agent is a choice about which purchasing work to delegate. The app descriptions do not establish that every overseas buyer needs one. Check the language, destination, and checkout actually available to your account before deciding what assistance you need.
Compare the evidence at each handoff
The following is a recommended buyer record, synthesized from the app, payment-provider, and warehouse sources. These fields are not a built-in app workflow or mandatory industry paperwork.
Scroll horizontally to see all columns →
| Handoff | What the app or provider page supports | Record to obtain from the hired agent | Dominant Failure Mode & Prevention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery and account access | Named discovery features; purchasing options depend on the actual account. | Listing and selected variant; account owner, purchaser, order viewer, dispute contact, and person authorized to confirm receipt. | A link becomes an unspecified purchase, or the buyer cannot see an agent-owned order. Approve the specification and agree how the order record will be shared. |
| Payment | A named payment route with its own authorization and eligibility conditions. | Buyer approval; purchasing account and order reference; supplier/payee identity; amount, currency, payment reference, and refund destination. | Funding the agent is mistaken for paying the supplier. Require evidence linking supplier payment to the approved order. |
| China receiving | The cited warehouse describes identifying supplier parcels and matching them to customer orders. | Domestic tracking; receiving date; cartons and SKUs counted; arrival photos; shortages, damage, and held goods. | A delivered scan is treated as verified contents. Reconcile the parcel with the approved order before consolidation. |
| Inspection and acceptance | The warehouse describes customer-instructed opening and checks with an agreed scope. | Acceptance criteria; checks performed; quantity examined; results and exceptions; buyer accept, rework, or hold decision. | Packing photos are treated as functional testing. Specify the examination and retain unresolved exceptions. |
| Labels and export handoff | The operator describes instructed label application and final carton records. | Label file and revision; placement; order/SKU-to-carton map; packing list; packed measurements; final photos and dispatch approval. | Repacking breaks traceability, or a label is treated as proof of compliance. Reconcile final contents and approve the label instructions before dispatch. |
Who controls the order when the agent handles payment?
If you own the purchasing account, record what the agent may do and which approvals remain yours. If the agent owns it, agree how you will receive an accessible copy of the actual order and subsequent updates. Include the person who can contact the supplier, handle a dispute, request a refund, and confirm receipt on the platform.
An agent’s purchase summary should connect your buyer reference to the platform order reference, selected goods, seller/payee identity, and payment evidence. Keep the original identifiers alongside your reference. If the agent cannot supply that connection, resolve the missing evidence before authorizing further work on the order.
If the proposed route is World Pay
WorldFirst’s World Pay help describes account verification and authorization, followed by secured-transaction checkout with World Pay. It is a website-based route; it does not establish a universal sequence of mobile screens. Account setup belongs in the buying guide linked above.
The World Pay FAQ dated 24 December 2024 describes CNH as the buyer’s funding balance and CNY as the supplier-receipt currency for this route. It describes topping up CNH or converting another balance into CNH. Keep those two currency roles explicit in the payment record.
The same FAQ identifies conditions involving account verification and authorization, service activation, supplier acceptance, and order eligibility. World Pay is therefore one conditional option. Check the reader’s current account, actual order, and applicable terms rather than treating the saved FAQ as a promise that the route will be available.
If the agent cites Buyer Solution terms
The Buyer Solution supplementary terms published 15 December 2022 name World First Asia Limited and Hong Kong governing law. This is one identified agreement, not every regional WorldFirst contract.
That document defines an affiliate-account holder as an “Agent,” which can include the buyer, an affiliate, or an appointed third party. Its defined term does not mean every user has hired a purchasing agency. For an eligible buyer who elects that solution, the document covers payment instructions and leaves disputes between buyer and agent to those parties.
Ask which agreement and account arrangement apply to your proposed payment. Record the refund destination and dispute owner for that arrangement. Do not assume a failed inspection can reverse a payment already completed.
What changes at China receiving and inspection?
CN-DELIVERY’s consolidation description lists supplier names, domestic tracking numbers, customer references, carton counts, product names, SKUs, quantities, and arrival dates for incoming shipments. It describes matching those shipments to customer orders and checking outer packaging. This is one operator’s service description, not a platform rule or an independent audit.
Use it to ask a specific question of the warehouse you hire: which of those records will it supply for this order? Keep a shortage or damaged parcel attached to its supplier order even if other goods are ready to consolidate. Name where unresolved goods are held and who must decide what happens next.
The same operator says cartons can be opened when requested and describes checks such as model, color, size, visible condition, accessories, and quantity. The scope depends on customer instructions. A receiving count, an outer-package check, and a separately commissioned functional inspection answer different questions.
Write acceptance criteria before the examination. Ask the report to name what was checked, how many units were examined, the result, and what remains unresolved. If function, dimensions, or accessories decide acceptance, name those checks explicitly in the agreed scope. Do not infer an unreported test from a clear photograph.
Our editorial conclusion: payment evidence cannot substitute for receiving reconciliation, inspection results, or buyer release. This follows from comparing the payment-instruction scope in the Buyer Solution terms with the separately instructed goods checks in the warehouse description; it is not a quotation from the payment provider.
Keep platform receipt confirmation, the agent’s commercial payment terms, inspection acceptance, and permission to dispatch as separately named decisions. Agree who owns each decision and retain the evidence supporting it. Read any confirmation deadline on the actual order; the saved app descriptions do not establish a deadline for your purchase.
How do labels stay connected to the goods after repacking?
CN-DELIVERY’s repacking page describes applying product, SKU, barcode, and customer-specific labels when instructed. It says labels should be supplied or clearly specified before packing. Its consolidation page separately describes shipping labels during dispatch preparation. Confirm the label work in your warehouse scope before packing begins.
Give the warehouse an approved file or specification, a revision identifier, and placement instructions tied to the relevant product or carton. Ask for photos showing the applied labels and keep any exception visible. These sources support instructed label application; they do not establish automatic replacement of existing markings.
After consolidation, the export-carton identifiers may differ from the incoming supplier-carton identifiers. Ask for a map from each final carton to its included supplier orders, SKUs, and quantities. Record goods excluded or still held. Use the final packed weights and dimensions rather than assuming supplier estimates describe the new shipment.
Label application alone does not establish destination compliance. Check the required wording and markings against the actual product and destination documents before approving instructions. The retrieved warehouse pages do not authorize removing or replacing origin, safety, product, or dangerous-goods markings, and they supply no universal compliant label text.
Buyer-owned handoff checklist
Keep an accessible copy of the file, including records held in an agent-owned account. Use the following as completion fields for each purchase reference:
- Discovery: app/storefront, listing URL, seller identity, selected variant, specification, and supplier clarifications.
- Access and authority: account owner, purchaser, order viewer, dispute contact, receipt-confirmation authority, and method for sharing the actual order.
- Payment: approved order and purchasing account, payee, amount and currency, funding reference, supplier-payment reference, refund destination, and applicable agreement.
- Receiving: domestic tracking, warehouse receipt, SKU and carton reconciliation, arrival photos, and shortage or damage exceptions.
- Inspection: written criteria and scope, quantity examined, results, unresolved defects, and the buyer’s recorded decision.
- Packing and labels: approved file/revision and placement, final order/SKU-to-carton mapping, packed measurements, photos, packing list, and excluded goods.
- Release: separate entries for platform confirmation, any payment due to the agent, inspection acceptance, and dispatch authorization, with the responsible person and decision date.
If a record is missing, identify the gap against the purchase reference and assign the next decision to a named person. A complete-looking export carton should not erase an unresolved supplier shortage or an unapproved inspection exception.
Sources and method
This independent buyer guide synthesizes saved pages retrieved on 19 October 2026. App claims come from the named developer descriptions, excluding user reviews. Payment claims are limited to WorldFirst’s help page, the FAQ dated 24 December 2024, and the specific Buyer Solution terms dated 15 December 2022. Warehouse examples describe CN-DELIVERY’s stated services; they are not verified performance claims or endorsements.
Wholesale Sourced did not open an account, place an order, or test this workflow. The diagrams and checklist are editorial recommendations for preserving records. Confirm current account availability, contractual terms, and the hired warehouse’s agreed scope for the actual purchase.
